Don't Rush Your Brush Take the Brushing Challenge Chesterfield Dentist

The Little Things

This summer we're focused on helping our patients improve their preventative dental care routine and remember that it all starts with the little things - just brushing twice daily for two minutes is still the most effective way to prevent decay. A quick 30-second brush on your way out the door in the morning just isn't quite enough. Many electric toothbrushes will automatically run for two minutes. Most of them will beep every 30 seconds, telling you to switch to a different quadrant of your mouth, spending equal time on each section. If you're brushing manually, you can:

  • set a timer and/or alarm (smartphones make it so easy)
  • listen to your favorite song
  • use a stopwatch
  • or purchase a little minute sand timer (that you can flip over before starting on the opposite side)

Patients who visit over the summer can participate in our Don't Rush Your Brush campaign- a fun way to connect with our patients and help spread the word about the benefits of brushing 2x/day for 2 minutes! At the end of the summer, we'll hold a drawing for all of those who participated and giveaway a nice dinner to a local restaurant.

Children who visit our practice in June, July and August are invited to take our BRUSHING CHALLENGE! They can take home a brushing chart from Chesterfield Valley Dental to help them track how much they're brushing and create lifelong habits that will stay with them- summer is the perfect time! Those who complete their chart can bring it back to our office and turn it in for a prize. For each chart completed, they also get an entry to win a ticket to Six Flags or a gift card at the end of the summer. They can complete 3 charts over the duration of our campaign. The best part is, you don't have to have an appointment this summer or even be a patient to participate- just fill out the chart and bring it in! We'd be happy to give you a chart if you stop by or you can download it from our website under FORMS:

We love getting to know our patients better while having fun and bringing awareness to dental health!
