Tooth-Colored Fillings | Chesterfield MO Dentist

Unlike a few decades ago, a filling no longer means a permanent mark on your smile. Additionally, dentistry is more comfortable than ever thanks to improved anesthetics and delivery methods.

We offer tooth-colored fillings in our Chesterfield, MO dental office to repair your tooth, seal out bacteria, and blend in with your smile.

Here is what you can expect when you have a filling at Chesterfield Family Dental:

Patient Comfort

Patient comfort is our number one priority and we never begin any treatment until you feel completely comfortable. Dr. Rahm is an experienced dentist with a gentle manner. He delivers anesthetic with stealth and compassion causing many of our patients to say they can’t believe how easy it was.

The Process of Placing a Tooth-Colored Filling

We will take an x-ray of the area to determine how big of a cavity we are working with. This allows us to leave enough time to take care of you properly and to determine if anesthetic will be necessary.

In order to place a filling, Dr. Rahm will first remove decay and clean out the cavity left behind, so that decay does not progress or return after your restoration. Once all signs of damaged tooth structure and bacteria are gone, Dr. Rahm will begin placing composite in layers to fill in the cavity. Composite comes in a wide variety of colors to match your tooth and blend in seamlessly.

After each layer, he will harden the composite with a curing light. When the final layer is placed, he will shape the filling, polish it to a shine, and make sure that it fits well with your bite. You can chew on your filling right away, but be careful if your tooth is still numb because you can burn your mouth or accidentally bite into your cheek.
