If you're considering a dental implant to restore a missing tooth, it's entirely reasonable to feel nervous or anxious regarding the procedure. At Chesterfield Valley Dental, we can appreciate that surgical treatments can sound scary and daunting.

If you have been approved as a candidate for the procedure at our Chesterfield dental office, we will work hard to make you feel as comfortable as you would in your own home.

We value your time and trust, part of earning that trust is through ensuring your comfort and offering pain-free treatments. Dr. Robert Rahm and the rest of his friendly dental staff are always available to answer any questions and address any concerns about your future procedure.

Part of addressing patient anxiety involves educating patients regarding their treatments, especially each step of the process.

Dental Implant Evaluation

The first step of the implant process starts with an evaluation with Dr. Rahm. During this evaluation, Dr. Rahm will be able to visually inspect your mouth and take digital x-rays to look for any dental abnormalities.

Dental Extractions

At Chesterfield Valley Dental, we do everything in our power to save your teeth, but there are cases where a dental extraction is necessary to stop the spread of infection. If you need a tooth extraction, Dr. Rahm may carry out a necessary bone grafting procedure to conserve and protect the jaw bone. After this process, Dr. Rahm will wait several months to let the area heal.

Dental Implant Placement

A dental implant is a thin titanium post that is fused to your jaw bone through a minor surgical procedure. After Dr. Rahm has embedded the dental implant, the next step is healing and allowing the implant to integrate with the jaw bone.

This entire process can take around three or four months for the implant to fuse entirely to the bone. We ask that patients immediately notify Dr. Rahm of any concerns or questions at any point in the process.
