Questions about Porcelain Veneers
Chesterfield and St. Louis, Missouri
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin all porcelain shells that completely cover the front of your teeth, providing a seamless, beautiful, brilliantly white smile.
What treatments are porcelain veneers used for?
Porcelain veneers can be used to cover up any number of aesthetic imperfections. Most commonly, porcelain veneers are used to cover up teeth that are:
- Chipped or cracked
- Crooked
- Gapped
- Unevenly spaced
- Oddly shaped
- Stained
What is the process for porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers take two office visits. During your first visit, one of our doctors will reshape your teeth, take an impression for your new veneers, and fit you with temporary veneers. During your second visit, you new veneers, created by May Dental Arts, will be permanently affixed to your teeth.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
We take great pride in using the highest quality porcelain in our veneers, and your veneers can be expected to last for many years. Proper oral hygiene and regular checkups will help ensure your veneers maintain their luster and beauty for years to come.
Are porcelain veneers able to correct structural issues with teeth?
Porcelain veneers are a strictly aesthetic process and will not serve to strengthen teeth. Veneers can, however, be placed over teeth that have had other restorative procedures.
Are porcelain veneers expensive?
The cost of porcelain veneers varies for each patient. We use only the highest quality porcelain, which serves to increase cost some, but also provides a superior end result. Your personal cost will depend on the number of teeth being treated with veneers.
