INSURANCE

There are essentially no insurance plans which provide for complete coverage of all dental services-the patient is always responsible for payment of at least a portion of the fees.  Insurance reimbursements are based on either a percentage of the dentist's fees or according to a table of allowances (or a 'fixed benefit schedule') which is a form of reimbursement not related to the dentist's fee.  The insurance company establishes, in advance, a fixed benefit payable for each covered service rather than pay a percentage of the actual fee.  Either way, deductibles often apply and the patient is responsible for the remainder of the charge.

Our office will gladly submit claims to all insurance companies for payment. 

Most insurance plans fall into one of these two categories:

Traditional Plans:
Patients have the 'freedom of choice' to see the dentist of their choice.  If your plan is this type, we will submit your claim and you are responsible for any unpaid balance. Most dental insurance plans are of this type.

PPO Plans:
Patients are given a list of network member dentists to choose from.  If you go "out of network" your benefits are likely reduced.
If your employer and dental insurance company have set up your plan as a PPO plan, claims we submit will be processed as "Out of Network".  Except for Delta Dental Premier, our office is not a member of any PPO (Managed Care Programs).

All patients are responsible for any balance after insurance has paid their part.  It is your responsibility to work out any disputes with your insurance company regarding benifits.
