1) What toothpaste do you recommend? A. The best toothpastes are Crest, Colgate, Aim, AquaFresh, Arm & Hammer, Menthodent, and Sensodyne. Generally, all varieties of each of these are acceptable, with one notable exception. Our office has not had good results with our patients using the Crest ProHealth line of products, and we are advising against the use of these toothpastes and mouth rinses. Increased plaque retention and sensitivity were just a few of the problems we found. The Colgate Total line of products seem to be the best for the average adult. The Crest products have flavoring which is milder and targeted more for children, For patients in need of desensitizing toothpastes, Colgate Sensitive and Sensodyne are the best, each having potassium nitrate as the active ingredient. 2) What about Lumineers that we see advertised?
